Praiseworthy Aspects of Veteran Services

- Lack of understanding for who veterans are and the specific challenges they face.
- Lack of awareness of veterans’ presence on campus by the student body.
- Confusing paperwork process that needs further streamlining (exit, re-entry).
- Availability of Mental Health and Medical Services on campus for veteran specific needs.
Recommendations
- Streamline process to make it easier for veterans to enter and exit college.
- Increase access to mental health counseling and medical services for veterans.
- Create of veteran-specific programming to encourage academic, social, and emotional success of veterans.
- Increase awareness of veterans and their service to the local and global community.
- Educate the MU community on the specific challenges veterans face.

The University of Missouri should continue to strive to serve our nation’s veterans by offering them a safe, supportive environment where they can earn their college degrees.
